We here in the coaching team of Handball Evolution find that there are too many junior and senior players who have learned the basic shooting technique on a very superficial level, and use this as their starting point in learning more complex special shootings.
This is a vicious circle:
A player thinks he knows something well,
but doesn’t really,
so he doesn’t understand why he isn’t efficient in a game,
and repeats his mistake in an effort to improve.
The first step is to make the player aware of the details of shots which can be crucial in achieving efficiency.
With this awareness, we build learning methods and correct these details so that the player could progress without obstacles.
After a player learns to perform basic shots from all positions well,
we switch to learning special shots.
As part of an Advanced Programme, we lead the players through a process of upgrading basic shots and help them broaden their scoring abilities.
